We found this pub online when looking for a convenient rendezvous for lunch between Watton and Sleaford
We struck lucky, with a warm welcome, including an open fire and excellent food at very reasonable prices. The Aberdeen Angus cottage pie was really tasty and the desserts were delicious and a bit different. Good beer and a nice bottle of wine. Recommended and we will come again if we are in the area

FROM PUBS GALORE
Alan Winfield left this review about Rose & Crown
This pub is in a village called Holbeach Hurn and is about 3 miles from Holbeach i walked here from Fleet Hargate.
This is pub is an Elgoods tied house and there were two real ales on here i had a drink of Elgoods Cambridge bitter which was very nice, the pub was fairly small inside but was smart and comfortable.

HAPPY CAMPERS (copied from email)
message: Hi ya Kelvin and Janet
After having such a fab time staying with you over the New Year Period my friends and I (aka The Caravan Crew) would like to know if it\'s possible to book again this New Year (preferably in the car park with hard standing. This was discussed with Kelvin and Darren), I think the electric was just a slight problem that could be resolved if necessary. We would if possible like 6 possibly 7 pitches. I look forward to your reply.

This was our first visit to the campsite and it did take us a while to find it as it is a little tucked away from the main road and situated at the other end of a quiet village. The pub itself is painted a lovely bright yellow so it’s easy to see. We were greeted by Baz who made us very welcome and showed us where to pitch and offered his assistance if we needed it, the site itself is pretty flat and lots of electric hook ups.
The showers were as clean as they could be but the weather was a little grim at times so a bit of mud on the floors is to be expected. They are cleaned every morning. The washing up facilities is outside at the moment and lacks a canopy or some other idea if its raining but there is plenty of hot water.
The pub is a proper local type pub with real ale and guest ales. The food is awesome and 99% of it is homemade by the tall guy (Daz). I would definitely recommend this site, the staff cannot do enough for you and nothing is too much trouble.
There are no rules on this site, the only thing they ask is to respect other campers which is enough really. We would definitely go again and the prices are very reasonable (£26.00) 3 nights with a hook up.It’s a pretty new site and they are improving it all the time.

We stayed at the Rose and Crown for one night mid week which was only £7 - In August we really thought this was great value!
We arrived at the camp site and were greeted by friendly faces who showed us the options for where we could pitch. There was a toilet block quite close to our tent which I found to be clean, the showers had hot water in the morning and always had toilet paper.
After putting up the tent we went out to see some sights. In reflection we should have planned what we wanted to see and do before we got there as we really struggled to find anything close by to see that interested us. We ended up in Kings Lynn, where we had a nice walk around.
In the evening we went to the camp sites own pub. The staff were so lovely and the locals all very friendly and chatty. They have a great selection of beers and ciders all reasonable prices.
Unfortunately the weather spoiled the trip a bit and really restricted what we could do. If we were to go up that way again we would stay at the same site and after speaking to the staff we have a better idea of what to see and do nearby.

What a fab site, we were greeted by very helpful staff and directed to our pitch without delay. Toilet and shower facilities were basic but very clean and adequate for our needs. The children's play area was very good, there was also a games room with a tv, my little girl was very happy she could catch up on ceebeebies.
The site itself was kept in superb condition, our stay was most enjoyable and would definitely return. There is lots to do in the surrounding areas and supermarkets and shops are a short car journey away.
